Dr. Maria Miaritis,
Dr. Maria was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She attended the University of Waterloo where she received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree and her interest in natural medicine began. Dr. Miaritis then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science, and graduated with honors from the National University of Health Sciences in Illinois with a Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic Medicine. Dr. Maria has also received certifications in Acupuncture, Kinesio CKTP taping, and orthotics. She has also had training in Prenatal, Maternity and Postnatal Chiropractic, and Nutrition. Dr. Maria was awarded Hour Magazine’s Top Chiropractor in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. She also received an award as one of the 10 Best Chiropractors in patient satisfaction from the American Institute of Chiropractors in 2016. Dr. Maria is a member of the Michigan Association of Chiropractors, The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, Macomb County Chiropractic Association, and is an Alumni Ambassador at NUHS. Her mentor in college stated “treat your patients with the same respect and compassion you would give to your parents” and that lesson is what she practices to this day…
Dr. Maria resides in Macomb with her husband Jeff, and their 2 beautiful sons, Michael and Matthew. They are HUGE sports fans, and love attending Red Wing and Tigers games.
Sue Willman, LMT, BCTMB
Sue was born and raised in the suburbs of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She attended the University of Windsor and received a Bachelor’s of Human Kinetics, Honors Movement Science Degree in 1998. Sue’s interest in Massage stemmed from working in Physiotherapy offices through High School and then University. After getting married and moving to Michigan, she attended Carnegie Institute in Troy, where she graduated at the top of her class, and received the Scholastic Award in Massage Therapy for the graduating class of 2003. She was honored in 2013 by receiving an Outstanding Alumni Award for Massage Therapy in recognition of outstanding professional achievement in the field of allied health at the 2013 commencement ceremony. She is actively involved in a Professional Advisory Committee at Carnegie to help with curriculum and education of student therapists. Sue has received certifications in Oncology massage, Massage Cupping and is a level 2 Reiki Therapist. Sue blends various modalities in her sessions to use an integrated approach to tune into the individual needs of each client.
Sue resides in Chesterfield with her husband David, her daughters Lyla, and Aleksa and lively dog, Ally. When not working she is a soccer mom, loves finding a good bargain and sipping on iced cappuccino’s.
Jennifer Smith, LMT, BCTMB
Jennifer graduated from Carnegie Institute’s Massage Therapy Program on the Dean’s List with honor in 2005. She also holds an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts form Oakland Community College. Jen’s inspiration to become a massage therapist developed throughout the years while working in different occupations to put herself through college. Working in different industries, with varying populations, enabled her to witness a common need for pain reduction. She believed Massage Therapy was an effective way to apply that inclination… She has been in the chiropractic setting since 2007, has a Level 2 Reiki Certification, and is working towards her certification in Cranial Sacral Therapy.
When Jennifer is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family outdoors in nature, exercising and attending concerts
Susan Hanchett, RYT
Susan is a certified yoga teacher who received her RYT200 through Santosha Yoga in Chesterfield and her RYT500 through Yoga Impact based in New Jersey. She has special training in yoga therapy and also REIKI II trained and believes yoga is for everyone no matter your age or perceived ability level. As a mother of three beautiful young adult daughters and a marketing professional by day, Susan easily relates to the bodies and pressures her students bring to class and offers a supportive, encouraging environment to practice in.
Susan will guide you through a practice that rejuvenates you physically, emotionally and mentally. Over time you will watch how your practice transforms and adds to the quality of your life. Focus is on individual student need and personal instruction in a smaller class setting. Each class supports building strength, flexibility and relaxation.
Karl Seidl, LMT
Karl graduated from Carnegie Institute in Troy, Mi, where he carried a Dean’s list average and had perfect attendance during his schooling. He was taught a broad variety of techniques and modalities ranging from Swedish, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy Techniques, Reflexology, and Sports Massage. He has been a licensed massage therapist since 2016. His constant goal is trying to help his clients find time for themselves, and to create a treatment plan tailored uniquely for them. His massages aim to bring back better flexibility, range of motion, and greatly reduce muscle tension and stress. He specializes in neck, shoulder, and posterior hip techniques. He chose the Massage Therapy field due to his innate feeling of wanting to help others feel normal again. In his spare time he enjoys cooking and spending time with his fiancé.
